Ever since I can remember, I have always had a love of photography.
I credit my "eye for photography" to my mom who took the time to teach me to appreciate the simple beauties of God's creations. Also to my grandmother Marie who didn't just write poetry about God's creations but in her words she gave them life and personality.
I started off taking pictures of nature, sunsets, flowers, animals and of course my children. After winning first place several times in photo contests I decided to take my photography one step further and began doing portrait work.
Children are always fun, but I think that I find more enjoyment in taking pictures of adults who claim to "never take a good picture" and be able to capture a picture that helps them walk away feeling good about themselves. YOU CAN FIND BEAUTY IN ANYONE!
Weddings of course are on the top of my "favorites" list. To be able to share a couple's special day and be able to give them quality photos that will last a lifetime is an amazing feeling!
I feel that pictures are so much more than just images on pieces of paper. They hold our greatest memories of special times and people who are dear to us and can be passed down from generation to generation along with the loving memories that tell "our story".

Laura and Marsha have been friends for about 10 years. Their mutual love for photography prompted several trips over the years that they fondly refer to as “photo safaris”. Laura will very rarely be found without a camera "in hand" or at least near by. Photography is something that not only comes natural to her but is obviously just part of who she is.
As Smiles by Stiles Photography grew Laura began assisting Marsha with weddings. It only took a short time to realize what an amazing team they were in covering such events together. Her work was outstanding from the very first wedding!
Laura’s photography skills and attention to the details not only compliment & enhance the overall finished product, but are details that not just anyone can capture in an artistic way....but Laura seems to have a knack for!
Laura's images are held very dear to the hearts of each couple making them simply priceless when they receive their final wedding day images. Her professionalism and creative talent combined with a personality which is that of a true artist make her an absolute joy to work with!

Ryan is a relatively new member to the Smiles by Stiles team; but do not let
that fool you! Willing, hardworking, and eager to please this down to earth guy
has a self professed passion for life. He works feverishly to recreate the
beauty that he sees so that the rest of the world can enjoy, or at least
remember, some of the simpler pleasures of life. A creative soul thrives within
this one, and he welcomes every opportunity to "let it shine" with great enthusiasm and passion!

*Jenn Hochstetler/ Assistant Photographer:
Jenn's love for photography began when she was a small child. She loved being in front
of, and behind, the camera! Jenn remembers dragging 3-5 disposable camera's along
for 5 days of church camp, and they would be filled half way through the week!
From there it blossomed into friends and family asking her to take pictures of
them throughout the years. Most recently she was able to further her skills when her
daughter was born by taking photo's of her. Jenn is vibrant and
full of life, and likes to reflect that in her work by having fun
and being creative, bringing out the best in those she
photographs!
